Spa Girl ponders the perfect Gift

As the clock ticks down to the holiday season it is always fun to put together the perfect gift for that special friend. Well I have just the ideal present. It's a Spa Basket full of goodies to pamper yourself from head to toe!

Throughout this past year I have posted several do-it-yourself spa goodies to treat yourself at home.

In celebration of my second Christmas as Spa Girl I am going to give a Spa Basket to the 200th person to join Spa Girl before December 25th on facebook or my Spa Girl blog site. And if you were the Spa Girl to suggest they join, you will get a basket as well.

So tell your friends about Spa Girl and help spread the word and in the meantime, make sure to pamper yourself!

Spa Girl spurges on LAMER

It is icy cold and in weather like this your face and lips take a beating. So I splurged and purchased one of the best lip balms and face creams on the market--LAMER.

And its everything it says it is!

LAMER has a very interesting history. It was invented by Dr. Max Huber, an aerospace physicist who suffered severe chemical burns in a lab accident. Taking over twelve years to develop the formulation to alleviate his condition LAMER consists of sea kelp high in anti-microbial properties and the nutrients calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron and lecithin; vitamins C, E and B-12; and oils of eucalyptus, sunflower, wheat germ, alfalfa and citrus.

I have been using La Mer Lip Balm  for a week and my lips have never been so soft and supple. LAMER offers a number of product lines for the face and body.

Check out their website for more information.

Spa Girl says it is that time of the Year!

As the winter starts to gain control it is time to think about your lips!

There is nothing worse than chapped, sore lips, it really dampens interest in kissing just at the time of year when there is nothing better than to curl up in front of the fire with your sweetie.

Moisturizing your skin in winter is essential-especially for those sensitive and exposed areas of the face. Both cold weather and summer sun are not ideal for our lips, as they can become chapped and cracked.

To help remedy these conditions there are some great easy-to-make recipes than include the natural anti-inflammatory and antibacterial benefits of honey. The first is a great exfoliator, then a remarkable Lip Balm.

LIP EXFOLIATOR
  • ½ tsp. granulated sugar
  • 1 drop honey
Combine sugar and honey and rub the blend onto your lips for 20 seconds using light, circular motions and gently rince with warm water and pat dry.

LIP BALM
  • 2 tsp. almond oil
  • 1 tsp. honey
  • 1 tsp. beeswax pellets
  • 1 vitamin E capsule
Combine almond oil, honey, beeswax, and vitamin E capsule liquid in a small pan. Stir over low heat until beeswax melts. Pour into a small container, once soidified, use often.

Enjoy the winter Spa Girls and remember to go to the Spa.
